“Favor is transferred through proximity.” – Lance Wallnau
Compare with: “If they receive you, they receive me” – Jesus Christ
A single point of contact, like the shaking of hands can already open an atmosphere where divine solution can be inspired. Working on your conscious acknowledgement of provision in every situation, will in the first place give you peace and also make you pass on any favor that follows you.
Worrying will trouble your spirit and will subject you to any proclamation made in unfamiliar gatherings. The less you worry, the more you reign and add to the divine provision of excellent work-out of any problem, all through sudden inspiration.
So wherever you go with Christ, things are fixed and ideas flow, just by your presence. Calibrate your heart on the Spirit of God and give (emotional, intellectual and spiritual) reason to this focus so that your feelings, thoughts and wills are submissive to this stream of love.
How do you, a sinner, imperfect fellow, dare to say you have the right to be the thing where everything moves about? How can you claim this position of importance, a standing in the middle of the wheel, as if creation itself will find it’s worth through you?
How can this thing that perishes, the one dependent thing, rely on your unstable intentions? How dare you judge without being of eternal quality, and say that all can’t be without you?
Listen, if you want to live forever you’ll need to have eternal quality – having no fault. Thus being able to withstand the process of being judged about your worth of standing in the place of courtship, being part of the Perfect Standard.
Only one Man has the right to claim this position, the One who was proved of being of Eternal quality, the One who was perfectly stable and now is praised for His trustfulness. Listen to Him, for only His judgment is righteous. Make Him your standard and you’ll see that you will grow in importance by denying yours.
It is of the utmost importance that we never try to analyze ourselves. Upon reading such a treatise as this, we may quite unconsciously become over-active in self-analysis. In observing the condition of our inward life we tend to over-analyze our thoughts and feelings and the movements of the inner man. This may result in much apparent progress, yet actually it renders treatment of the self life that much more difficult.
If we persistently turn within ourselves we shall lose our peace completely, for we shall soon discover the discrepancy which exists between our expectation and our actual condition. We expect to be filled with holiness but we are found wanting in holiness. This makes us uncomfortable. God never asks us to be so introspective. To do so constitutes one of the main reasons for spiritual stagnation. Our rest lies in looking to the Lord, not to ourselves. In the degree that we look off unto Him to that degree are we delivered from self.
We rest on the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, not on our own shifting experience. True spiritual life depends not on probing our feelings and thoughts from dawn to dusk but on “looking off” to the Savior!
